What-do-I-need-to-do-before-pest-control-comes-2048x1024

Not all pest problems are obvious. Sometimes the signs are subtle—detecting them early can save your property from damage and stress.

Start by checking for droppings—tiny granules near kitchen cabinets, along baseboards, or in attic areas. Rodent droppings are small and black, while cockroach droppings may look like pepper flakes.

Next, tune into strange odors. A musty, oily, or ammonia-like smell often indicates cockroaches or rodents. Termites may emit a sweet, earthy scent from wood damage.

Look for structural clues: tiny holes or gnaw marks on baseboards, chew-through power cords, and gaps under doors or around plumbing pipes.

During the day, observe winged insects drifting out of wall crevices—these might be reproductive termites or flying ants.

Even without visible pests, sick pets or unexplained itching can signal fleas, mites, or tick pollution.

Lastly, keep an ear out—noises in wall voids after dark often reveal nocturnal animals like mice, rats, or squirrels.

If you notice any of these indicators, don’t wait—call for a professional inspection. Early detection makes treatment quicker, less expensive, and less disruptive.
